Yes. OSHA requires that an operator of a compaction equipment is trained in order to prevent rollover hazards and equipment injury.

What precautions do I have take before I operate a compaction machinery ?

  1. Go over the equipment manual provided by your equipment provider.

  2. Carefully evaluate work surfaces and road work where the compaction equipment will be operated.

  3. Ensure that the compaction equipment is equipped with ROPS and seat belts in job site areas that have a potential for rollover.
