Forklifts

A forklift is a material handling lift used for lifting and moving materials over short distances. Forklifts are also called lift truck, fork truck, fork hoist, or forklift truck. They are built with two prongs attached to their front that enable them lift materials. Due to their unique lift capacity, maneuverability and stability, they have become one of the most widely used piece of equipment in the manufacturing and warehousing industries. Some examples of a forklift are walkie stackers, pallet jacks, telehandlers, rough terrain forklifts, industrial and warehouse forklifts.

Warehouse Forklift

The Ware house forklift is also known as an electric forklift. It’s an ideal resource or equipment for lifting and moving items over short distances . It’s essential mostly in warehouses, and indoor work on a stable, even surfaces. It’s material handling capacity and functionality in warehouses is top notch compared to other material handling carriers.

There are two main types of Warehouse forklifts; a Pneumatic tire forklift, and a Cushion tire forklift. There is no striking difference between these two forklifts as their major difference is their tire and wheel type.

The Pneumatic tire fork lift ensures more versatility as their tires can be compared to the tires of cars. Their tires have threaded rubber is filled with air. They are ideal for navigating rough terrains and uneven surfaces. There are two types of pneumatic tires; they are Air Tires, which are made of rubber and filled with air, and the Solid resilient tires which are made entirely from rubber. Due to the fact that Solid resilient tires are made entirely from rubber, they are impossible to get flat.

Rough Terrain Forklift

The Rough Terrain fork lift also called a straight mast forklift or all-terrain forklift, can be considered one of the largest of the fork lift family. They are used in lifting and transporting heavy loads across uneven, rough or rocky surfaces. Attached to the front  of these lifts are two prongs which are used to carry and place heavy loads or weighted items.

Rough Terrain fork lifts vary in size, and have engines that are powered by gasoline, diesel, or propane. They are built with air-filled tires that have a deep tread and are designed to navigate through rough and tough outdoor conditions. Some models are designed to have a vertical tower; the vertical tower is used in lifting loads vertically up, while some other models have a telescopic boom that is used in lifting loads upward and outward.

Industrial Forklift

Industrial forklifts are designed to lift, carry, transport, stack, and unload materials.
